WHAT MATTERS MOST

Protecting our water. Healthy Lakes. Respecting every customer dollar.  Transparency.

CLEAN WATER

Safe, reliable, high-quality water is essential to every home and business in our community.  I support responsible planning and investments that protect our water for today and the future.

HEALTHY LAKES

Our lakes are what make each of our communities special places for recreation, fishing, and enjoying the outdoors. Keeping them healthy means protecting water quality, the environment, and the wildlife that depend on them. Responsible proactive leadership will help protect our lakes, and the communities that enjoy them.

FISCAL ACCOUNTABILITY

I've spent my career focused on budgeting, financial planning, and preparing for the future. Every dollar EVMWD spends comes from its customers, and those hard-earned dollars deserve careful consideration. Every major expenditure should be responsibly managed and clearly justified.

TRANSPARENCY

Customers deserve to see and hear the discussions that shape decisions being made on their behalf. Meaningful transparency includes access to meeting recordings and meeting times that allow customers a reasonable opportunity to attend and participate. When we're spending customers' hard-earned money, people deserve to know not just what we decided, but how we got there

My interest in water didn't start on the job, it started on a mission trip, building homes in Mexico with no water source, and later in El Salvador helping build latrines where running water was almost unheard of. That's when I stopped taking access to clean water for granted. It's my first priority, and every decision I make on this board will start there.

I've also seen firsthand what happens when we don't protect our lakes — the Canyon Lake fish kill was heartbreaking, and a reminder that healthy lakes matter for our wildlife, not just our recreation.

As a Certified Financial Planner, I've spent my career putting clients first, analyzing budgets, managing risk, and planning for their future. I'll bring that same discipline and accountability to serving EVMWD customers.

My name is Alex Cook, and I am endorsing Renee Griffiths for District 1 of the local water agency, EVWMD.

I volunteered side by side with Renee Griffiths for a year while we both served on the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association Board. Renee was the President with over a $18 million budget. Ms. Griffiths is a fighter for the people. She is honest, focused, and committed to one simple goal: representing the people.

I am endorsing Ms. Griffiths now because the water issues affecting Canyon Lake have continued to worsen over the past few years, and I have not seen the leadership needed to deliver real solutions. We need a change in direction. Ms. Griffiths is not reactionary; she has always taken initiative to address the issues. It is time for change. Continuing down our current path will serve no purpose. Please vote for Ms. Griffiths.

Thank you, Alex Cook Resident of 25 years
